The World Uyghur Congress (WUC) is happy to announce the appointment of a representative in Paris, Ms. Assal Khamraeva-Aubert. The branch in Paris will allow WUC to intensify its advocacy efforts to defend the fundamental rights of the Uyghur people, both in France and internationally.

‘’France is one of the most important countries in the European Union,” said WUC President, Dolkun Isa. ‘’In the last year, public opinion in France has changed significantly on the Uyghur issue. France must play an even greater role in the international community to defend this issue.’’

The World Uyghur Congress (WUC) is the largest Uyghur non-governmental organisation. The WUC works tirelessly to represent the rights of the Uyghur people in the international fora, including at the United Nations and at the various European Union institutions, as well as at national governments around the world. The CMO’s work has been recognised by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), in 2019 with the “Democracy Award”.

The Paris branch adds to our existing branches in Berlin, Brussels, Istanbul, London, Munich, and Washington D.C. We will continue to work closely with the government, elected officials, civil society, journalists, activists, and members of the Uyghur community in France.

The World Uyghur Congress (WUC) is an international organisation that represents the general interest of the Uyghur people both in East Turkestan and abroad and strives to promote democracy, human rights, and freedom for the Uyghur people through non-violent and democratic actions.
