Repression of religion, language, identity and culture are daily daily grievances for peoples in China. Only a few weeks ago did we witness one of the most brutal crackdowns against Uyghurs as 21 people were killed in Maralbeshi.

Likewise, the world is watching in horror at the continuing reports of self-immolations by Tibetans in China. As China’s Prime Minister Li Keqiang will be making an official visit to Berlin, Germany on 26 May 2013, it is therefore hoped that this will prove an opportune moment for the German government to raise these issues.

Uyghur and Tibetans in a display of solidarity will be engaging in a demonstration and subsequent vigil to ensure that the German government to voice their respective concerns on the human rights situation in China

The demonstration will take place at the following address and time:

Sunday, 26 May 2013

15:30-17:00

Berlin-Mitte, Spreebogenpark: Otto-Bismarck-Allee, Ecke Konrad-Adenauer-Straße
