Sentence: Sentenced to life imprisonment in 1981; charges against him unknown.

Ehsan Ismail (Hasan Ismail, Aishan Simayi) was sentenced to life imprisonment on 28 July 1981 by the Kashi [Kashgar] Intermediate People’s Court, East Turkestan. The charges against him are unknown.

He might have been released already, since if a prisoner follows prison regulations and shows signs of reform, a life sentence may be commuted to fixed-term imprisonment of up to 20 years.
