The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games have drawn a huge amount of criticism from rights groups and others in the international community. Back in 2015, when China was awarded the games, the human rights situation for Uyghurs, Tibetans, and others was already very dire. Now, there no signs of improvement, but the International Olympic Committee has failed to act, whereas only a handful of governments have announced diplomatic boycotts.
