In its Fortieth Session, the Committee on the Rights of the Child (hereafter, ‘the Committee’) noted in its Concluding Observations of the People’s Republic of China’s (hereafter, ‘PRC’) Second Periodic Review that the PRC had translated the Convention on the Rights of the Child (hereafter, the ‘Convention’) into the “main minority languages”. However, the World Uyghur Congress (WUC) notes that it has not been able 1 to locate a translation of the Convention – as well as other vital human rights treaties and their respective observations – into the Uyghur language either on the national or the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) government websites.
