Demonstration in Munich in commemoration of the 13 anniversary of the Ghulja massacre

Published on 3 February 2010

The East Turkestan Union in Europe (ETUE) will hold a rally in response to the call of the World Uyghur Congress (WUC) to commemorate the 13th anniversary of the Ghulja massacre and to condemn the ongoing brutal Chinese crackdown against the Uyghur people in East Turkestan. The protest will be held on February 5, 2010 from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm in front of the Chinese General Consulate in at Romanstr. 107. 80639 Munich.

The ETUE calls upon all Uyghurs and friends of Uyghurs in Germany, especially those residing in Munich area, to join them in condemning the Chinese government’s suppression of peaceful Uyghur demonstrators on February 5, 1997 in the city of Ghulja in East Turkestan.

The Chinese government is currently conducting a fierce crackdown in East Turkestan in which thousands of Uyghurs have been detained, and it routinely violates the religious rights of the Uyghur people in East Turkestan.

Help us to ask the Chinese government to cease state brutality against Uyghurs in East Turkestan and to call upon Chinese authorities to stop their crackdown, stop sentencing Uyghurs to death, stop the torture, release Uyghur political prisoners and respect the religious and cultural rights of the Uyghur people.
